Where did it all start, Mr Potato Head Toys or Mr Potato Head Parts?

Prior to 1960 mr potato heads were actually just mr potato head parts that children would stick in to real potatoes. It was not until the early 60’s that Hasbro released the original plastic mr potato head. Hence, mr potato head was born, which led to generations of kids being able to use these toys to express their creativity and individuality! Back then nobody would have ever guessed how popular the toy would get, or that they would become collector’s items!

Mr potato heads popularity grew over the next 30 years. Mr potato head toys, puzzles, creative play sets, mrs potato head, and even video games were produced. There were even other companies licensing the image in order to produce products. It was such a hit that non-profit companies were using it to promote their causes. The President’s Council even gave it an award for physical fitness of all things.

Mr potato head toys have not only lasted thru out the years, but they have regained their popularity. From its beginnings in the 50’s and the 50 year anniversary limited editions in 2002, up until some of the more recent editions like Toy Story Mr Potato Head and Transformers Bumble Spud. Mr potato heads have lasted the test of time.

Today, there are more types of mr potato heads and mr potato head parts than ever before. There are so many toys to choose from, that I will just name a few. From the Star Wars collection, you have Artoo-Potatoo, Darth Tater, Clone Tuber, Spuda Fett, and that is not even the whole set. Other areas include Opti-Mash Prime, Spider Spud, Taters of the Lost Arks-Idaho Jones Spud, Princess Spud, and even Mermaid Spud which only scratches the surface. All of which leave kids with the ability to mix and match way more than ever before and stir up their creative juices!

You also have to consider all the mr potato head parts, games, and accessories. Like with the mr potato heads; there are so many mr potato head games, parts, and accessories that I will only mention a few here as well, or this would turn into a journal! First I will start off with mr potato head parts and accessories.
